Is Your Internet Connection Slow?

No need to be alarm, its not the end of the world yet. Slow internet only. This is due to damaged Asia-Pacific Cable Network 2 (APCN2) undersea submarine cable near Taiwan as Typhoon Morakot swept through Taiwan over the weekend.

Service providers SingTel and StarHub attributed the slowdown to a damaged submarine cable system near Taiwan. Users may experience slow Internet access to some US websites. Both Internet service providers said that APCN2's consortium members have started restoration works and their are engineers diverting Internet traffic to other cable systems.

The situation is expected to return to acceptable levels by Aug 14.

No wonder my latency reaches 2148ms (which is ultimately high than usual (300+ms)), then got disconnected while accessing to US network.

Hi Sammy..

Connection seems to be back to normal, try to do a speed test @ www.speedtest.sg to see if your connection is slow.

If really slower than usual, than you might want to report this issue to your ISP. But if you are on StarHub Cable.. Haha.. This may be due to the football season.. :)

Are you with Starhub or SingTel? What's the broadband speed you are paying for?

Base on ur result, are you with starhub MaxOnline SurfLite 2MB plan?
