New Luggage Policy

Following JetStar, Tiger had came out with a similar scheme. The Tiger's new luggage policy is in place to counter the high aero fuel price & also to remind us to travel light. So, why don't they wave off fuel surcharges than??

When you book flights from 29 May 08 onwards, you can save by travelling light with up to 7kg of hand luggage free, or choose to pay an affordable fee when flying with checked luggage. Charges are based on the weight of the luggage you're checking in, so how you fly now lies in your hands.

Passengers now can select their luggage requirement during the online booking process, or while booking via the call centre. If you do not pre-select your luggage allowance during the online booking process, you may either call their call centre at least 72 hours prior to departure to make your selection, or upsize your luggage at the airport during check in.

If you are upsizing at the airport, do note that you can only select up to 15kg. Anything in excess of 15kg will be subject to excess luggage charges per kilogram. Therefore do remember to make your selection of luggage requirements online when you are making the booking, as doing so at the airport will cost more.
