Singapore is now the most wired nation on earth, with the household broadband penetration rate hitting 99.9% last December.
The figure, given by the Infocomm Development Authority (IDA), puts Singapore (10 SQ KM) ahead of places traditionally thought of as powerhouses in the wired world: South Korea (92%, 98480 SQ KM), Hong Kong (83.8%, 1098 SQ KM) and Taiwan (76.8%, 35980 SQ KM).
It also handily beats the Government's own target, of a 90% penetration rate by 2015, set in 2006 as part of a 10-year masterplan to transform the country and economy by promoting the adoption of infocommunications.
With the "Size" of Singapore, having to reach 99% penetration is just as easy as 123. Compared to South Korea which is 9848 times bigger than Singapore, having 92% penetration rate is really very outstanding! We won as its compared on Nation Level rather than Land Area.
