AWOL armed NSman faces two new charges

20-year-old full-time national serviceman Dave Teo faces two new charges, in addition to being charged with possessing an army rifle illegally. One is for possessing eight live rounds of ammunition illegally and the other is for carrying a 40-cm knife in a public place.

Teo appeared in court on Wednesday, together with 21-year-old Ong Boon Jun, who had been charged with not reporting to the authorities that Teo was in illegal possession of a weapon.

Teo had gone missing from his Mandai Hill Camp while on guard duty before midnight on September 2. He was found and arrested in Orchard Road after a massive 20-hour manhunt.
