7-Eleven outlet's licence suspended by HSA

A 7-ELEVEN outlet at Ngee Ann City Civic Plaza has had its tobacco licence suspended for six months from Sept 1.

Its employee was caught selling tobacco products to someone below the age of 18 on July 6 this year and was compounded for $2,000. This is the 2nd time the outlet's employee has been caught committing the same offence.

In a statement, HSA reminds all tobacco retailers that the offence is punishable with a maximum fine of up to $5,000 for the first conviction and up to $10,000 for the second or subsequent conviction. The tobacco retail licences can also be suspended or revoked should the licensees and/or their employees repeat the offence.
