Summer snowfall in Gansu, China

A rare snowfall covered fields and mountains in Gannan Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture in northwestern China's Gansu province for 2 days, Xinhua reported. The Lanzhou Central Weather Service said the rare weather occurred in the ordinarily hot summer due to the lasting moderate and heavy rains in the region, causing the temperature there to fall below zero degrees Celsius. The heavy snow piled up to 3 centimeters. Pedestrians wore winter clothes as they left home.
