Just finish the four parts documentary on the Doomsday Prophesy of 21 Dec 2012 by History Channel. Little did I know that other than the Mayan Calendar stops at 2012, The Chinese I-Ching, Medieval Predictions of Merlin & Mother Shipton, The Orion Prophecy, Holy Bible The Book of Revelation by St John & the Web Bot suggested the same. Coincidence?

Why was time really ending at 2012? According to the Mayan Calendaring tool, the earth will be passing through the galactic plane which runs through the galactic center in line with the sun. No one know what impact does this 25800years once galactic alignment has on earth. Many adopted the idea that this galactic alignment which bring earth so near to the black hole will cause a polar shift & reversal that result in worldwide destruction.

Recent work by scientists and geologists indicates that Earth indeed rebalanced itself around 800 million years ago during the Precambrian time period. They tested this idea by studying magnetic minerals in sedimentary rocks. Using these minerals, they found that the north pole shifted more than 50 degrees, about the current distance between Alaska and the equator in less than 20 million years. This reasoning is supported by a record of changes in sea level and ocean chemistry in the sediments that could be explained by true polar wander. NASA states that there will be a massive polar shift around December 2012 and the results of that shift are unknown. The North Pole could shift to the Equator within days, weeks or hours.

The reversal of the poles is attributed to the harmonic cycle of the magnetic fields of the sun. Polar reversals can be calculated precisely on the basis of the sunspot cycle theory or the magnetic field theory, which the Mayan and the Old Egyptians were privy to. American psychedelic shaman Terrance McKenna did some mathematical fractal operation with I-Ching to produce a time wave which supposedly maps out something called "novelty" across the scale of time, from the Big Bang to the Eschaton, the ending of time. With great coincidence, the mapping of time mysteriously ends at 21 Dec 2012 too.
