Do you agreed with Jackie Chan that Singaporeans have no sense of self-respect? His speech last Saturday at the Boao Forum for Asia not only offend the Chinese living in Hong Kong and Taiwan, its also offend Singaporeans.
Although what he said is not really the whole truth, sometime just can't ignore but to agreed with him that many, many Singaporeans really had no sense of self respect. And they are perfectly "OK" with it.
If you guys remember quite sometime back, there's this charity drive whereby the organizer offered free buffet in exchange for some donations, but some well paid fools just walk in to fill to his tummy's content & walk out without even donating a single cent. Not far back, I recall reading an incident where by a lady standing within a parking lot near carpark entrance to the shopping mall, refused to move away while a car was trying to park into that lot. She was chopping the lot for his boyfriend's car which is still outside the mall. Thinking herself as a tissue, she said "If I can reserve a sit with tissue, why can't I reserve this lot?"
Got self respect? Even Ming Yi had said that "I think we are living in a modern world. The world has changed. It's different. A lot of religious people, not only myself, are very different now."
But than, come to think of what he had said that "中国人还是需要被管的" reminded me of his latest show the Shinjuku Incident. Did he went overboard with the role or the movie itself has a hidden meaning?
