A promise that's not kept

Last Friday night, this pieces of paper came through my door but didn't had time to read it till yesterday. It seems that the residents here are very unhappy about the change in color scheme. They are seeking residents to voice their feedback to the Town Council or the MPs for Sembawang GRC. In the notes, they even provide the email address of the MPs.

Currently, areas around my block had the most unique color scheme in woodlands. The current color blend so well with the huge grassland behind & also matches the color theme of the condo opposite ours. Now, the Town Council are repainting the whole area with white & blue which make us no different from the other cluster nearer to the MRT.

Having a change in color scheme is cool, but some colors in our unit are unable to change to blend with the new scheme. Like the green window grill & the earthy tone granite tiles used. So, mixing blue with green really look ugly. Have they thought of that? Its like using black banner on CNY, which they really did last year.

This seems to be a small issue to me, but to the other residents that was here before I do, they felt that a promise made was not keep. Not by the resident committee, but the MPs. I got to know today that they had a dialogue session last year & the MPs had promised to consult the residents opinion before deciding on the new color scheme for this area. Now, the Town Council are adopting the "Father knows best" attitude & proceed with the white blue new color scheme.
