Ingredients
• 1 Harden Nian Gao
• 1 Egg
• 1 Tablespoon Corn Flour
• 2 Tablespoon Rice Flour
• 1 Cup Water
• A pinch of salt
Instructions
1. Cut Nian Gao into similar rectangular size about 2" x 2" & of 1/4" thickness.
2. Beat the egg till it is thickened, add in corn flour, rice flour and salt, mix well, than add in water to make a batter.
3. Heat corn oil in wok till its ready for deep-frying (About 150°C).
4. Coat each Nian Gao with batter.
5. Use a pair of long chopsticks to pick it up and place it in the hot oil.
6. Deep fry for about 2~3 minutes until golden.
7. Remove from oil and drain away the oil before serving.
Tip: Nian gao tastes better after it’s kept for some time, as it gets harder.
