Warm welcomed with bills from SP Services & Town Council when I first open my mailbox for my new house. Though there will be some form of welcome pack or greeting cards congratulating us moving into this estate, but none.
Newbies joining a new community should be warmly welcome. Like in the past, existing neighbours will throw a welcome party for the new comer & everyone will have the chance to get to know each other. Unlike nowadays, doors are shut tight & no communication between neighbours.
Shouldn't RC (Residents' Committee) be doing something to bring back the good old practices? By the way, isn't RC's job is to promote neighbourliness, racial harmony and community cohesiveness among the residents within their RC zones? Although RC is run by residents for the residents, but its ironic that we hardly see the committee members around.
