LTA (Land Transport Authority) will refund motorists who were charged at a KPE gantry on Sept 3, between 11am and noon. LTA said it will refund 538 vehicles who were affected by the erroneous deductions amounting to about $800.
How did this happen?
Between 11am and noon on 3 September 2008, ERP contractors from Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, when carrying out routine testing, accidentally activated one of the Phase 1 ERP gantries at KPE slip road exiting to PIE at Sims Avenue.
LTA has made arrangements to refund the motorists for the amount that had been wrongly deducted with a $10 cashcard, which covers the fee that had been wrongly deducted and also provide a small token as our apology for the inconvenience caused.
