Closed for nine months for a $4 million facelift, the 28-year-old market cum food centre, has been transformed into a modern dining and shopping venue with a stunning facade of multi-coloured glass louvres and better facilities.
You should feel cooler now that the ventilation has been improved and you might not need to fight so hard for a table since the number of tables has gone up significantly from 123 to 196.
Other improvements include re-tiled flooring, new utility services, bin centres, toilets and exhaust fume systems. The elderly and handicapped should be pleased to know that ramps and wheelchair-friendly tables have been added too.
The single-storey centre offers a wide variety of local fare at its 45 cooked-food stalls. It also has 30 lock-up stalls and 48 market stalls. Conveniently located off Ang Mo Kio Avenue 6, the centre is surrounded by low-rise shophouses, a polyclinic, a mosque and a cinema.
