PrimaDeli needs to pass food safety requirements before re-opening

The Agri-Food and Veterinary Authority (AVA) said it would review PrimaDeli's food safety requirements before allowing its food factory to re-open.

AVA will be using the Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP) System, an internationally recognised system used by food processor companies and manufacturers.

The Prima Food factory at Keppel Road has been closed since last Wednesday, following a food poisoning outbreak which affected more than 150 people who had all eaten PrimaDeli cakes.

AVA officials have collected samples from the factory and will re-inspect the premises before allowing it to resume operation.

PrimaDeli must also comply with AVA hygiene requirements to thoroughly clean and disinfect its factory before it re-opens.
