It's the month of the Hungry Ghosts Festival or the Feast for the Wandering Souls (aka Zhong Yuan Jie). It's held on the 7th month of the lunar calendar. The Chinese believe that during this month, the gates of hell are opened and all spirits are free to roam the earth and visit their living relatives for a month.
The 7th month is also famous for getai usually organized by the Zhong Yuan Hui to entertain, show hospitality to the "good brothers". This year, we will be missing the King of Hokkien Getai, Chen Jin Lang. The big brother to many getai singers had pass away few months back. In order to recognize his contribution to the getai circuit, Raintree pictures had made a movie base on getai circuit - 881.
