Town PostBox's New Look

PostBox infront of Orchard MRT just had a new look. Thanks to STAMP the nation’s first postbox public art competition organised by creative interest group FARM and jointly presented by the Urban Redevelopment Authority (URA), Singapore Post Limited (SingPost), Singapore Totalisator Board and Singapore Turf Club.

Singapore residents will have the opportunity to turn postboxes in the city area into works of art. STAMP is the first project to be supported in the second cycle of URA’s Architecture and Urban Design Excellence (A•UDE) Promotion Programme. The A•UDE Promotion Programme was developed by URA in 2005 to encourage the community to initiate activities and events that will invigorate and enliven our cityscape and public spaces. In line with this objective, STAMP will provide a platform for the community to add a personal touch to and build a new identity for their physical surroundings through the creation of their very own “mini-monuments” out of postboxes. The organisers hope that through this, people will grow to appreciate the role that art & design plays in influencing and enriching their day-to-day experiences and the environment around them.

40 city post-boxes have been selected for the makeovers check it out at STAMP website.
