Lotis PMO (Personal Mobile Office)

The Lotis PMO (personal mobile office) is a miniature 12GB portable storage gadget that is slightly longer than a matchbox and weight 30g, powered by a one-inch Seagate drive. Besides its hard disk functions, the PMO has features such as application mobility, data synchronisation and encryption, a boon for users who need to work on multiple computers and keep their data confidential.

The gadget comes installed with Ceedo Personal edition, a program which allows you to work on your personalised workspace even away from your own computer. For instance, you can carry Internet Explorer and access your personalised bookmarks even on Internet cafe machines, as well as take your Outlook Express mails anywhere, saved on the PMO. You can also download, install and run several Ceedo-certified applications, such as Skype, the Mozilla Firefox browser and WinAmp.

The good thing about running your personal workspace with Ceedo is that there's no trace of work left on the host computer.

At $259, the PMO is not as cost-effective as an 8GB thumbdrive, which can be bought at around $125. As you can buy the Ceedo Personal software separately for the thumbdrive for around $45, and download the free Allway Sync app as well as freeware file encryption programs, therefore, it would be more cost-effective getting a thumbdrive and software separately for $170. A DIY PMO.
